Consult Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)

What is a consult like?

A consult with your animal(s) takes place by phone (or in person) with you calling me at our agreed upon time at 518-842-2956.  Your animal friend is first invited to speak openly to you (often 10+ minutes) on areas they feel are of importance.  I relay out loud their words, images, emotions, body sensations, etc. as I receive them.

Since the animal is fully aware they are truly speaking to you, you are encouraged to comment, respond and ask questions of your animal throughout the session as you feel drawn to do so.  Prewriting your questions is encouraged (no need to send them to me) and taking notes of what your animal says is recommended.

What is your role as a communicator?

I devote my skill and full attention to you and your animal in connecting and translating what they are saying thus allowing you a clearer view of their mental, emotional, physical and spiritual perspectives on the life areas you and they bring to the session.

Do I need to do anything special as you connect with my animal?

Being relaxed and open minded assists your animal in feeling safe, comfortable and willing to express themselves.  (Understand there are times of occasional silence during a session. This is normal as I receive/speak with your animal.  No need to do anything special during this time.)

Should I tell my animal about the consult ahead of time?

Yes! Telling them in advance either out loud or mentally gives them the courtesy of a "heads-up" as well as some think time to prioritize their thoughts.

How does telepathy (which is an energetic language) work?

Think of telepathy as acting like radio waves (which are also energetic in nature).  Both telepathy and radio waves are unseen, yet can be sent and received over far distances with ease. One radio tower doesn't have to "see" another radio tower for the transmission to happen.

Since all animals speak the language of telepathy between one another, if a human has honed their own skills in it (as it's natural for all of us to do), it's possible to speak this language with the animals.

Is a phone consult just as effective as an in person session?

Yes, because telepathy is an energetic language, it can be done with an animal a few feet away to the other side of the world and  beyond.

Actually, for some skittish/territorial/ill animals, working by phone over a distance is preferred so they don't have to worry about dealing with my physical body and can just focus on our dialogue.

What information do you need to connect with my animal?

When scheduling, please send me...

Your Name, mailing address, e-mail and phone #

  Animal's name, age, gender, location

  Breed, color, any special markings

Other human and animal family members he/she lives with

How long owned and if passed, the animal's approx. date of passing

Photo if available sent via e-mail (preferred) or postal (will be returned)

Do I have to be next to my animal during a consult?

No.  They can be inside/outside, miles away or even asleep.  Leave it up to them. Telepathy is not the interpretation of body language or sounds like "barks", so no need to hold the phone up to them.  It's a silent language between our minds and hearts.

Do you work with passed animals?  Lost Animals?

Yes, I work with passed animals and find such sessions can can foster healing, understanding and bring a sense of peace/closure.

Regarding lost animals, I currently do not do this work, however here is a link of those who do:  www.acersplace.com

What can I talk about with my animal?

Topics vary but may include:

* Health        *Physical Body Strength/Discomforts        *Safety Concerns/Fears      *Diet

*Interactions with other People/Animals      *Wisdom       *What they Feel is their "Job"

     *Advice/Suggestions        *Showing/Training      *Environmental Needs/Preferences/Wants

*Relocating     *End of Life Concerns       *How to Improve Riding Partnership      *Afterlife

*Happiness/Joys    * Life Situations     *Habits/Patterns     *Life Purpose       *Past/History

*Emotional, Mental, Physical Status    *Stresses/Coping Strategies   *New Family Member

Can we focus on a particular issue?

Yes.  If you have a particular topic in mind, give me a heads up on the general area you'd like us to focus on when scheduling.  This helps me monitor where our time should be spent.

How much should I share during the consult?

As long as the information coming from your animal makes sense to you, we're all set and the info. can just flow.

If there is something you're not understanding, need clarification on, want to ask your animal or want your animal (or me) to understand on your end, please feel free to voice this out loud during the session.

Your active participation helps make your session productive.  And since your animal is truly speaking to you, it's your response and feelings that matter to your animal.

During a consult, will my animal bring up what I feel is most important?

They may or may not.  Why?  Because they may not be thinking about it at the same time you are, may not prioritize it in the same way or may be waiting for you to bring it up yourself, allowing them to explore other topics in the meantime.

How do I know you're talking to my animal?

Owners often recognize what their animal friend makes reference to, how they describe their feelings, preferences and actions. This often comes through naturally.

Can I ask  my animal health questions?

It is fine to ask how an animal is feeling in their body.  I do ask that all clients understand however, that while I can hear what your animal says, I am not a veterinarian, nor is your animal.  A consult is not a replacement for vet care or professional advice in any way.  I can not diagnose or prescribe drugs.

What I can do is translate what I perceive an animal is sharing that may prove helpful to you and your vet, but in no way should an animal consult be your first or only route regarding the health or illness of your pet.   As the animal's guardian, you (not I) know your animal friend best and are responsible for all health decisions.

My animal is well-adjusted.  What should I ask  him?

Can a consult cure an undesirable behavior?

While consults can often clarify an animal's take on an issue, it's not practical of me to offer a guarantee because you and your animal have free will in all actions and decisions.  Like people, some situations, actions, thoughts and concerns are complex, involve the behavior of others or would benefit from other resources/approaches.

With that said, I do feel that in such instances talking with your animal can be helpful in knowing where they are coming from.  Such information may lead you to new resources or creative thinking towards greater balance and harmony.

What else do I need to know about a consult?

Because of the respect I hold for all involved,  I will not spend my time being tested.  I do not do this work for entertainment.  What I do is real and sacred.  Animals are sentient beings and I respect them and your relationship with them on all levels.
