What is a
consultation like?
An
animal communication consultation takes place on the
phone when you call me at the prearranged time. We
begin by allowing your animal friend to share whatever
is on his or her mind. For many animals, this is
their first chance to be heard and as a result you may
find what they share moves from topic to topic quickly.
I
encourage all involved to be open and willing to let the
conversation develop in its own way. As your animal friend shares
information from his/her own point of view, you are welcome to ask
questions. Your animal friend's translated
response will be spoken out loud as it is received.
How is such communication even possible?
Humans, horses, dogs, cats, fish, insects, etc. have a life force that make up their
consciousness. Some people call this life force the 'soul' or
'spirit'. Regardless of what it's
called, it is this part of the being in which a connection
is established.
What is your role as a communicator?
In
facilitating an
animal communication at your request, I devote my time and energy to
connecting with your animal and relaying the information received as
accurately as I perceive it. By translating your animal's
responses to those questions and concerns you have asked me to inquire
about and in sharing whatever they wish to initiate themselves, my goal is that this experience offers you insight,
greater understanding and a grander view of who your
animal really is beyond the physical body you already
know so well.
Do
I need to do anything special as you telepathically
connect with my animal?
Being mentally relaxed
throughout your consultation, open minded to hearing
your animals' viewpoints and a willingness to truly
listen is the absolute
best way to assist in energetically setting the
stage for your animal to feel comfortable, ready
and willing to fully express themselves during a communication.
Once the communication is
underway, you will find that their are brief pauses
and times of silence throughout our conversation.
This is normal and happens in order for me to open my
mind so that I can receive information from your animal.
You need not do anything special during this time.
Should I tell my animal about the consult ahead of time?
Please do! Telling them
in advance either out loud or mentally gives them the
courtesy of a "heads- up" as well as some extra think time to
ponder what they might want to share with you during
your session.
What information
do you need to connect with my animal?
At the time a consultation is scheduled
either via phone or e-mail,
I will request the following information which serves as a "tag" to
connect with the correct animal. That way, when the time of the consult arrives, we can immediately begin.

Does my animal
have to be with me during a consultation?
No. An
animal can be inside, outside or even asleep. Telepathy is an energetic connection not bound by location or
physical boundaries for the animal or communicator. This is why
such communication can take place on the phone.
My
animals have passed. Can we communicate with them?
Yes, certainly. The physical body is simply a
vessel in which a being's life force animates and lives
through for the duration of its physical life. The
life force, soul, consciousness (whatever you prefer to
call it) upon leaving the physical body has simply
navigated to another place beyond our normal perception.
So yes, the animal can still be communicated with just
as readily as if they were physically with you.
What might my
animal want to talk about?
Topics vary
considerably. Some animals desire to share information that they
feel would help you better understand them. Others like to discuss
their relationship/favorite activities with you or their
desires/preferences. It's also quite common for information to
move outside what you already know about your animal. Such
knowledge is special and is like learning something new about a friend
you may have known for years. This allows you to view your animal
friend at a deeper level.
During a consult, will my animal bring up what I
feel is most important?
Often
times they do, but not always. Animals may or may
not initiate the topics you are specifically calling to
inquire about because they may simply not be thinking
about it at the same time you are, may not prioritize
the topic in the same way you do or may be waiting
for you to bring it up yourself, allowing them to
explore other topics in the meantime.
How do I know you're talking to my animal?
As a conversation
unfolds, owners may recognize what their animal friend makes mention to,
how they describe their feelings or their personality preferences.
As animals talk about themselves, such information often naturally comes through.
In other instances,
owners will find their
own thoughts about a certain topic verified by the animal and exclaim, "I thought that had something to do with it!" This suggests you
have been intuitively picking up information from your animal and the
consultation confirmed it, which is wonderful in and of itself!
Can I ask my animal health questions?
Many clients are as concerned with an animal's thoughts
and feelings as they are about their physical bodies.
It is certainly acceptable to ask how an animal is
feeling in their body, how they feel about the current
diet, if they feel they are getting enough physical
exercise and mental stimulation, if there is a health
reason for excessive barking, body chewing, whining,
pacing that you can help them with or if there is
something you can do for them that's not already being
done, etc.
I
ask that all potential clients understand however that
I am not a veterinarian, nor is a consultation a replacement for veterinary care or
professional advice in any way. I can not diagnose or prescribe drugs.
What I can do is translate what I perceive an animal is sharing that may
prove helpful to you and your vet, but in no way should an animal
consultation be your first route should you feel there
is a potential health concern with your pet.
Always remember, as the animal's guardian, you (not I)
know your animal friend best and are responsible
for making all the decisions regarding their best possible care.
How do I prepare for a consultation?
I
encourage you to create a list of questions and keep them beside you at the
time of the consult as you will have an opportunity to
ask your questions live during the appointment after
your animal has had a chance to speak.
Since what your animal
says is often so important, I encourage owners to write down the
information received throughout the conversation to look back on later.
A written record of your animal's words are just as valuable after the
consult as during.
My
animal is a well-adjusted individual. So what kind
of questions would I ask him?
I've
found that most animals truly desire that their
guardians look beyond the surface level. There is
a deeper being within and sometimes it simply takes asking them questions
to get the ball rolling in revealing this very natural
part of them.
When it comes to questions, ask yourself what is important to you,
what you think may be important to them, your
relationship with each other, physical needs, if there
is anything they want, etc.

Some
Possible Questions
Can a consultation
guarantee to cure undesirable behaviors?
While consultations can often find out more information
on an issue you or your animal wish to address, it's not practical of me to offer a guarantee
since you and your animal both have the free will to
choose, think and act in very individual ways.
While some habits or behaviors can be worked out
through compromise and
understanding, there are times when it's just not that simple.
Some situations are complex and go deeper than what a
consultation can provide and require other avenues of
exploration such
as retraining, behavior modification, bodywork and
exercise, physical/emotional/situational modifications
on behalf of multiple individuals, etc.
Do you work with missing/lost animals?
I
personally do not, however there is a link attached of
animal communicators who do take on this specialty work.

Are there other resources available on animal
communication for me to explore before I decide if a
consultation is right for me?
Many resources
exist. I encourage you to explore
www.animaltalk.net,
home of pioneer animal communicator/author Penelope Smith.
Penelope offers a listing of animal communicators in her
directory by state/country. Each communicator has
his or her own unique approach and style. I fully
believe you should choose a communicator you feel most
comfortable working with.
There are countless books in this field as well, including
my favorites Straight from the Horse's Mouth by
Amelia Kinkade, Animal Voices by Dawn Baumann
Brunke, Learning Their Language by Marta
Williams and Animal Talk by Penelope Smith. See
the 'Book Resources' tab for links to these books.
What else do I
need to know about a consult?
A consultation can be a
valuable, enlightening experience for animals and owners.
Because of the respect I hold for such an experience, I will not spend my time
being tested. I ask all persons seeking a consultation to review my website
to ensure you feel comfortable having me work for you. A consult
is about you and your animal and I invite you to approach it with
a relaxed and open mind.
By
the way...can I learn to communicate with animals?
Yes! There are many wonderful professional
communicators offering workshops in learning how to be open to receiving communication!
By going to
www.animaltalk.net
you will find
workshop teachers in nearly every state as well as
outside the U.S. If you're unable to travel far
